This week's dream team

Let me say that I have given my heart to no one yet in this race. I have given some money to many, hoping to get them up on that debate stage, or congratulating them for their leadership on certain issues.

A year ago, I thought the perfect ticket would probably be Biden / Harris. Biden to reassure both our older white voters — and our allies — from his position of long knowledge in DC. Harris as the younger, whip smart, AA woman who didn’t have as much experience but who’d be really well set up to be President in 4-8 years.

Today, reading David Akadjian’s excellent diary about Elizabeth Warren, my thoughts began to churn again, so here I am putting down my thoughts on an extraordinary team.

I’m writing this to get ideas from you all — to look at combinations of people who would really do our country well if elected or appointed. I’ll give you some of my reasons, and ask for yours. Choices do not need to be in the running right now — a lot of the admin positions should be staffed by the best and the brightest, not just politicians.

President — Elizabeth Warren. She’s so strong, so brave, so clear, so committed. Yes she needs to make more headway with communities of color and yes (obviously), some men and women would have to get over voting for a woman. But I think both can happen. I also keep remembering that HRC did win the popular vote, after naysayers be damned. I think EW could merge the Bernie and HRC  diehards.

VP — ?. A politician. Someone who has what EW doesn’t. A person of color? A white male, younger? Someone more conservative than EW but deeply committed? Mayor Pete? Or, though he’s not a POC, nor younger, what about Jay Inslee who could have the single portfolio of Climate Disaster?

Sec State — Cory Booker? He has solid, though brief, background on Foreign Relations.

Or Jeff Merkley, one of the few others on that committee who is really solid? Or Susan Rice, or ?

Attorney General — Kamala Harris. IF she’d do it. I know in the Akadjian diary someone suggested that’s not a high enough post for her. Maybe, but I see it as stronger than VP, personally. What do you think?

Education? — Senator Bennet from CO might be one. Luckily, our D Governor could appoint someone to his seat, a big consideration for me.

HHS —

Defense —

Energy — Inslee here? I have not yet read his climate plan, but hear it’s stupendous.

Interior — Grijalva, of course.

Treasury —

You get the drift.

Come on, fantasize awhile.

Then get back to work ELECTING one of these fine folks!
